28 Hours of Hope
Kelly J. and the band recently made an appearance with the “Morning Guys” Brian and Todd. Brian Gary and Todd Harding of K99 in Windsor, Colorado help promote the 28 Hours of Hope. 28 hours of Hope is a 28 hour marathon to raise money for battered and abused children. While Brian and Todd pop off their crazy sense of humor, callers donated to the local child abuse prevention center of their choice: (1) A Kid’s Place in Greeley, (2) Larimer County Child Advocacy Center in Fort Collins, or (3) Namaqua Center in Loveland. All three centers accept donations year round. Kelly J. performed 2 of her new songs on air to help bring in the calls. In the end the Good Morning Guys surpassed their goal with the help of listeners, local businesses, nationally and locally recognized artists, including an incredible $10,000 donation from Northern Colorado’s most recent lottery winner. Hundreds of pledges are attributed to the $94,417.69 raised for the 9th Annual 28 Hours of Hope. “It is truly amazing to be in a community where so many generous hearts are alive. I am so blessed,” sobs Brian Gary. Brian Gary and Todd Harding have also been named finalists for Medium Market On-Air Personality of the Year. CBS will broadcast the 42nd Annual ACM Awards show live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 15th. “Good Luck Guys!!! The whole band and crew is pulling for you!” –Love Kelly J.

Nic has been racing for 8 years. He started out in go-karts at age 11, then went on to Micro Sprints, and now is racing a 1200 Mini Sprint. Nic says he would love to make a career out of racing and would like to move into racing full size (360 or 410) sprint car. Nic’s ultimate goal is to race with the “World of Outlaws”. We asked Nic what his scariest moment in racing was and he said: “Last July in Dodge City Kansas, I wrecked and that sent me rolling and flipping several times. My car was destroyed, but I walked away.” On the flip side, Nic said his best time racing was back in ’04 Micro Sprint’s at the Colorado State Championship Race.“ I blew my engine in one of the heat races but the team was able to change engines and had me back on the track for the main event. I had to start in the back and work my way to the front to win the race and take the State Championship.” Nic has a very impressive career under his belt for an almost 19 year old. Nic holds such titles as point champion 2 years in a row, 2nd and 3rd in points ‘01 and ‘02.
